Sips Cafe "Mushroom and Cheese Omelette"- Its strange how, every fortnight, I go to TBC with full intent to consume no eggs. Somehow, I still end up eating eggs. Today I decided to eat something (omelette) which doesn't pass my lips even once every few years, figuring that if it contained cheese and mushroom, it would be well, less egg-like. The result was a most curious specimen indeed, a disk shaped concoction with a slightly crusty bottom. I am still pondering whether it was made in one of those new fangled electric omelette makers. As an omlette perhaps it left something to be desired, but as a sort of sort of cheesy mushroomy pancake like thing, and eaten with toast, it was better than it it looked.

i too have had such an omelette! it was in a country town, so i thought maybe that was the old-skool australian way of making omelettes: dry and rubbery and spongey, with tinned button mushrooms. (note to self: do not order the omelette in a country town.)
the omelette i used to get at danks street depot though... it was the folded over kind, where the inside is still soft and creamy, and the chunks of fetta in the middle are soft and creamy, and the fresh basil leaves wilted from the heat... mmm...
i am pleased you have started this blog! i have been intrigued by your breakfast club (and amazed at the feat of getting up in time for 7.30 breakfast).

This blog is being taken care of by one of my fellow breakfasters. I'm too lazy to do anything but take photos. I mean hey, isn't it enough that I'm AWAKE?!? :)
The omelette was just a bit strange. In the end I didn't think of it as an omelette.
As for getting up in time to actually be at breakfast by 7.30am, especially for someone who doesn't normally EAT breakfast, it has been somewhat of a strain but hey, what's a gal to do when two friends are actually BEGGING for her company at a time of the day which they know full well is her worst?!?! ;D ROTFLMAO.
